Provider data enrichment

Definition

Provider data enrichment is adding missing details to provider records, and correcting wrong ones, using other sources. Examples include adding languages spoken, clinical focus or a current phone number to a basic roster record.

What gets enriched?

Contact details, practice locations, affiliations, languages, accepting-new-patients status, clinical focus, and identifiers that link records across systems.

Where does enrichment data come from?

Public registries such as NPPES, licensing boards, practice websites, claims data and commercial data sources. The quality of enrichment depends on how each source is checked and how conflicts between sources are resolved.

Enrichment versus verification

Enrichment fills gaps. Verification checks whether what you have is right. Good provider data needs both, with a confidence score so you know which fields to trust.
