When trust breaks down, innovation begins

How it started

Healthcare should be built on trust. But for our CEO, Sury Agarwal, that trust was tested time and again by his own healthcare experiences. What should have been simple interactions — finding the right provider and navigating routine processes — turned into frustration and lost time.

A problem worth solving

Inaccurate provider data and inefficiencies exposed cracks in the system, raising a fundamental question: How could technology improve the care experience and make healthcare data more reliable and trustworthy? Drawing on his background in data and analytics, Sury set out to solve this problem — starting with provider data.

Applying proven expertise

He and his team weren’t new to tackling complex technology and data problems. Previously, they had refined data quality at scale, using digital tools to monitor 200B+ daily events, and deployed precision analytics to extract meaningful data signals. The same rigorous approach to data quality and accuracy that Sury and team had perfected and proven in another industry, became the foundation for Candor Health.

Chief Executive Officer

Sury Agarwal is the CEO of Candor Health. Before starting Candor, he was VP of Engineering at Moat, a SaaS analytics and intelligence platform focused on digital advertising. He was part of the founding team at Moat and helped build the company through its acquisition by Oracle for $850 million in 2017. At Oracle, Sury led initiatives across data engineering and analytics. He is a graduate of Cornell University.

Chief Technology Officer

Lucky Tavag is the CTO of Candor Health. He brings over a decade of engineering leadership experience at early-stage startups, including as Co-Founder and VP of Engineering at Axuall, a next-gen provider credentialing platform. He also held leadership roles in engineering at Moat (Oracle) and Critical Mention (Onclusive). Lucky is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University.
