What goes into Star Ratings?

Clinical quality measures (many from HEDIS), member survey results on experience and access, and measures of how well the plan is run, such as complaints and appeals.

How does provider data affect Star Ratings?

Members who can't reach listed providers have worse experiences getting care, and survey questions about getting needed care and appointments count toward the rating.

Where are the ratings published?

CMS publishes Part C and D performance data every year, and ratings appear in Medicare Plan Finder.
